The Blog Are Now More Social – Twitter Tools, Tweetmeme and Share on Facebook Added

Since last time I updated this blog regulary social sites like Facebook and Twitter have become really important and popular. Facebook is #2 on alexa and twitter is on a decent #12. This means people use these sites, a lot of people.

So, if you are going to run a blog these days, you should utilize the potential that the sites gives. I have had a twitter account since the start of this blog, but I haven’t really used it. Now I have set up Twitter Tools, which updates my twitter status automatically when I write a new post with a link. I have also added Tweetmeme Button which counts all retweets my posts gets, displays the number + adds a retweet link below. You can see this button in the top left corner of my posts.

For a test period all retweets of my posts will get a trackback in the post itself.

I have made a page on facebook, where users can become fan of the blog. Also, I have added the Share on Facebook button, which will show the amount of times the post have been shared on facebook, and if you click it a pop-up will show, and you can share the post.

  1. Looks good, but the “share on facebook” is not displayed on the frontpage. Maybe that would be an idea?

  2. Yea, that would be a good idea, but the thing is that the standard code given from facebook don’t work when doing that. Or, it works, but the url that is being shared is the index url. (www.vikingblogger.com)
