Would You Leave a Comment And Link To VikingBlogger If You Got A Do-Follow Link?

I guess thats got to be the longest headline ever. Right? Anyway, the issue is simple really. I want the get the activity up on the blog. I think that one way to do that is to make VikingBlogger a do-follow blog. Since I can’t give any traffic back (the blog don’t have any:P) I guess a valid backlink would be worth it.

When you comment on a post, your name will link back to your site. This is now a no-follow link, so that only gains you some clicks. (if you are really lucky) and if you link to one of the posts here you will get listed as a trackback. Those links are also no-follow. What I’m thinking of is to make those links do-follow.

So, my question is; Would You Leave a Comment And Link To VikingBlogger If You Got A Do-Follow Link?

  1. Nooo..Don’t do it!

Us real commentators will stay no matter what. Do follow comments just attract spammers.

  2. I was thinking about that to. But what about making only the trackbacks do-foolow. That way the blog might gain more links in?

  3. This is no word of a lie, I have nofollow on trackbacks, but still get trackbacks from spammers, hard to believe.

  4. Hehe, I do also get some links from spamblogs that are scraping my content. Don’t think it’s worth much though.

  6. You might get some extra activity for some time if dofollowed, only from people who are in search of links.

We would stay and leave comments, although they are nofollowed :)

  7. I would recommend not doing it – I will still comment :) – maybe use Lucia Link Love or something so that people who have over a certain number of comments get DoFollow.
I don’t really care about NoFollow and DoFollow, I just comment if I like the content and don’t comment if I don’t like the content

  8. Surely you will get the activity back but you have to spend more time moderating comments!

  10. Well, I don’t bother if it is a dofollow or otherwise, everything is a matter of like at first sight. If there is any relevant and interesting topic, I’ll usually leave a comment or two..

Anyway, here I am leaving my comment without knowing it is dofollow as I don’t use any tool to check at the moment. So I presume that this blog is dofollow, is it not?

Thanks for the comment. And your not correct, this blog is no-follow, and most probably it will stay that way. You can blame yourself since almost no one was keen on the idea of do-follow. :D
