Alright, I have tried Spottt for a week now, and I’m not impressed. The exchange are not going to work for sites with low traffic, period. The only sites I can see this service work for is big sites with loads of views. That way they get an big amount of credits just for the views, but most certain they aren’t giving a good CTR. The only way such a service will work is either A: It’s based on clicks, not views. You send 2 clicks get 1 back. B: A more powerful category system, where your sites gets placed in a category with similar sites with similar CTR.
Free Credits
One day when I logged in I suddenly had over 4k credits. I’m not sure what it was, but thats the only reason that I got a couple clicks back to my site. Anyway, I think it was a mistake, and before I got around and used all the credits they have taken it away from me. Hehe.

My statistic page
Anyway, the service is not getting my premium location, and I’m taking them of. Most probably not going to put them up again.
Have you used or are using Spottt on your blog/site? How are that working out for you?

I’ve been using spottt over at The Money Kings too for about a week. Same result as you, Viking.
Out of 1,151 impressions on other sites, I’ve gotten one click. It’s no longer worth the real estate it consumes on my site…

I gave up on spott as well they are the only ones benefiting from their website.

Never used it, and probably never will:p
Thanks for sharing this VikingBlogger, now I dont have to get more mail from things in my inbox;) hehe…

I didn’t even touch Spott (as a rule I try to avoid stray dogs), and glad I didn’t. It seems that there are too many of of these types of widgets that seem awesome at first and then turn out to just be a waste of blog real estate.
As blogger we should be open to try new things, but must react quickly when results are poor. Great job on this one Staale, and thanks for letting us know it was not worth adding to our blogs!

I didn’t pay any mind to Spott either. It’s business model was another one of those schemes where only the people at the top benefit, and everyone else gets scraps, if anything at all.

Seems it’s obvious that nothing is gonna come of Spottt
I kind of figured that something like this would happen though.

So none of you guys are interested in SPOTTT purely for branding purposes? Forget the click throughs. I must say, the one ad I have seen a lot for is the FIVEBLONDES. They’re definitely getting their scraps worth.

I gave up three days ago and also blogrush. Not worth for the amount of space they took

Entrepreneur: As long as you don’t have a site with a lot of page views the service is not got for branding. Sure, you get your face out there a little, but in my experience it’s not worth it. Remember, you have to show someone else’s ad two times, before you get yours shown one time. If it’s branding you are looking for I would have tried PW instead.

When they say the banner need to be placed above the fold, I lost interest. Their cute dog logo doesn’t seem like serious business to me hahaha…
Reply
The fact that the banners need to be placed above the fold is approx the only positive thing about the network. Imagine if every site placed the banner in the footer where nobody sees it. Then you get even fewer clicks and the branding effect falls away.
Reply
yeah, but my above fold is already occupied. besides, it’s better if people visit my site not just to click my spott or drop entrecards. that’s why i put my EC a bit lower so they scroll and see the site even it’s just for seconds

It would be much better if their logo was not a puppy either, that totally like Louis said, draws from the seriousness in my opinion.
Reply
I never tried it and will never do, as i didnt see a single positive review about it.

they’ve just sent me 2k credits for celebrating their 2000th member. you guys too?
i haven’t read their TOS, but i wonder if i could use those credits to advert without having my spott attached on my blog :p
i feel like dr evil..
Reply
Yup, got that email myself as well. If you have a banner up, and got it approved it should start using those credits automatic. Mine does that at least, and I’m not having the widget on my site.
Don’t expect much out of those credits though.
Reply
i’m putting up the widget in my links page, so it’s not on the sidebar and it’s not sitewide. dunno if they’re gonna approve it..
it’s not that i’m sad if they don’t :b ..

^^^ Haha, nice way around it. Let us know if that works. I’m curious now

Generally speaking I like working with ad brite but I’ve been hearing the same thing about this product. Overall not very positive on this one.

I didn’t even let my spottt account verify my spottt code on my page … my real estate is worth more to me.
Cheers!

Staale: Why not PW?
(1) You have to pay for it
(2) It rotates in pretty much the same crowd, the EC crowd.
(3) You have to monitor whether you’ve been outbidded or not.
(4) You have to pay for it

Entrepreneur:
Why PW:
(1) You can pay to get more exposure
(2) You get more visitors + the new readers leaves their EC giving you more credits
(3) Start an campaign and the system monitors everything for you.
(4) You can pay to get more exposure

bah! mine wasn’t approved. they want it above the fold..
and i’m not giving it
