Trying out Spottt – A Free Banner Exchange Program

spottt1.gif

If you take a look over to the sidebar you can see a new 125×125 banner just beside my RSS counter. This is a banner from Spottt. (Strange with triple “t”, but I guess you have to be creative since most good domains are taken.) They have just launched, and the guys behind the program are the same guys that runs AdBrite. Banner exchange programs are nothing new, but Spottt got sweet design, and it looks like they are getting an high amount of traffic – fast. (An Alexa rank of 18k yesterday)

spottt_logo2.gifThey have been live in about one week, and got over 1300 members already. Thing is though, not only blogs allowed in the network, so not sure about the quality of traffic. They are also taking a lot of views them self. For every 1000 views you generate you get your banner showed on another site 500 times. IOW; Spottt takes 500 views. A 2:1 ration, which aren’t really good.

Anyway, I am going to leave the spot in my sidebar for a week, and see how it goes. I will of course report to you guys! :)

  1. I read that you can’t choose who displays on your page so it’s random. That’s the main reason I haven’t given it a try…

  2. The site looks pretty good, but WTF does a dog have to do with banner exchanges? Hehe. :)

  3. Bloggeries: yes, it’s totally random which banner that gets displayed on your site. But they manually approve all banners and sites, so I guess you can be safe there. Kinda.

Jason: Hehe, I guess it’s in the name. Spottt. :) It’s a nice dog though.

  6. No. Not at all, but the number of views are way to small to determent if this works or not.
