Advertised One Day At Shoemoney - Here’s How It Went
Alright, after shoemoney announced that he we’re starting with Adtoll I booked a spot right away. Costing me $4 for a day it wasn’t much I could loose. Heck - if it brought me around 10 visitors I would be satisfied.
Placement
The placement of the ad is terrible. Far down on the right side. Bellow several other ads. It’s also in rotation, so you don’t get all the impressions. But when people reading the post they will come down to the ad, and hopefully then click it.
Price
When i bought it I paid $4 for one day. The price might go up when he starting to sell ads and gets some stats updated.
How it went
Alright, it did actually go kinda how I thought it would go, but not hoped.
As you can see on the images I got 13 clicks which cost me $0.31 per click. Thats not that expensive if the quality of the traffic is good. But as you can see on the analytics stats it wasn’t. What I can tell from this is that the ad position and number of ads in rotation are way to high. Keep in mind that I most probably got some clicks just because some readers where looking after his new ad spot. I think my ad did fairly well, but as I haven’t tried other type of ads you might be able to get a better CTR. I will not try that.
So, happy with the advertising? No. Will Shoemoney keep selling ads? Absolutely! Already the spot is fully booked until 22-Feb-2008!

What you need to do with graphical ads is to put youre domain name in there somewhere. Graphical ads are mostly for branding purposes and not so much for the clicks.
I’d bet that a text link would have given way more clicks
But, it’s nice that one can say : “Hey, i’ve just had an ad on shoemoney”
It’s true that 125X125 ain’t that big, however let me show you an example:
- Rocket profit affiliate program
- Exclusive mobile offers
- Exclusive sweepstakes
- Exclusive music
- Hottest dating sites
- Leading education and school
That’s what rocket profit got inside those 125X125
His ad placement isnt very good for the advertisers. I guess at least you can say that you advertised on Shoemoney.com
JUST placed an ad for 2 months works out 0.001 pc. Adtoll looks good overall, so I shall wait an see.
that’s a super high bounce rate. Even at $4 I wouldn’t bother, I’d rather write articles or do something else more targeted.
Thanks for posting about this. I always wondered if those types of places would be worth it. John Chow for example… $450 I thought of it a few times almost doing it once. Some people I know did it and said overall was expensive. I think best deals are to be had like with stocks; not from bluechip companies but from thoes on the rise.

I don’t think it is worth advertizing on sites like shoemoney except for branding. A bit like Traffic Exchange.
Personally I would use Shoemoney or TE in the future when I will have my own products and services which I intend to brand.
